Drugstore Beauty Products I am Loving!

Standard

From top left, clockwise: Boots No. 7 Stay Perfect Foundation, NYX cream blush in Natural, Wet n’ Wild Petal Pusher palette, Wet n’ Wild Walking on Eggshells palette.

These are some great Drugstore finds that I have really been loving lately!
I’ll admit, I’m a bit of a makeup snob, sue me. But I really love my brands and stay loyal to them if I like their quality.
I am usually disappointed with MANY drugstore purchases and end up never using them and they sit, lonely and sad in my makeup drawers:(

I hate wasting that money and I’m sure you do too…so here are a few items that have my (very important;) seal of approval haha.

1. No. 7 Stay Perfect liquid Foundation by Boots.

$13.99 at Target
I am the color 05 Cream. I have normal to dry skin and this foundation works great on me. The thing I love most about that it has a PUMP…so important in my opinion. You waste way less product using a pump and its just cleaner, always a bonus!
It dries to a velvety finish, I didn’t need to powder but I always do in my T-zone anyway…not sure why haha?
Has an SPF of 15 and is non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores)!
*MY ONLY COMPLAINT* and it’s kind of a big one is the SMELL….pee-yew!
I don’t notice the smell once its applied and during the day but man, while I’m applying it…gag! I can’t really think of a way to describe it, a little like meat…ok, ok I know that sounds cray cray but that is what I immediately think of? So if you are a fan of some braised beef slathered on your skin, then this is the foundation for you;) No, really, the smell doesn’t last promise!

2. NYX Cream Blush in Natural

$4.19 at ULTA
LOVE LOVE LOVE. That is all I have to say! beautiful color, supposedly a dupe of MAC’s Lilicent cream blush (thank you Kandee Johnson for the recommendation:)
Very smooth texture, GREAT for aging skin and dry skin.

3. Wet n’ Wild Petal Pusher Palette

$5.99 at Raley’s
For the price of this 8-pan palette you cannot go wrong! The colors in this palette range from very light cream, pastel pink to a dark, dark graphite with silver sparkle. and many lilacs and purples in between.
My favorite shades of the palette are the top right “browbone” color which I use over the whole lid. It’s the prettiest shimmery pink! and the mid-tone purple third from the top in the left column marked “crease.” It is a fantastic dupe of MAC’s Parfait Amour…just a tad darker! As you can see, each shade is marked either browbone, eyelid, crease or definer. This is great for beginners in makeup or those that need guidelines. You of course do not have to use each shade the way they are marked;)
These colors are soft, pigmented and very blend-able. I was VERY pleasantly surprised by the payoff and texture of these colors! I am a big fan of purples and this has become a go-to palette for me!

4. Wet n’ Wild Walking on Eggshells Palette

$2.99 at Raley’s
I mean really? $2.99? DONE! even if this palette sucked it’s not tragic because it’s so cheap but it does NOT suck, not even a little bit. Again, the colors are beautifully pigmented, soft and blend-able. This is my go-to neutral palette for every. single. day. The colors work so well together and you can use all three everyday or just one for a simple wash of color. Its so small and easy to grab. Great to take to school, work, travel with etc. I also think the light colors are so fab you can use them as a highlight with any other bold or vibrant shadows you have…and the brown is a nice medium brown that would balance out a more colorful eye look. So if you ARE traveling and want to minimize your eyeshadow packing, throw this palette in with two or tree single colorful shades and you are ALL set!!!

I hope you enjoyed my reviews of these products and please let me know if you have any questions at all! I am always on the hunt for great drugstore products as well as higher end products…I’m a junkie man:)

So PLEASE share with me what you love!

Peace, Love and Lipstick :)

Let’s try this again!

It’s been a LOOOOOOONG time since I posted.  I got a wild hair up my ass the night I started this blog and didn’t really think about, in depth, exactly what I wanted it to be about.

I am at a crossroads in my life, hence the delay and confusion.  I am indeed a stay at home Mom and want to remain one…however, I also have been pursuing my passion for makeup artistry.  I have done a few freelance gigs, shadowed a few fellow artists and have been stalking my favorite YouTube gurus for awhile now and feel as though I have found my true calling.  FINALLY!!!  I am only F-ing 30 years old right??? :)  It’s never too late to do what you love though, and I know this!

I am super duper excited about it and am ready to dedicate some real time and energy into freelancing, perfecting my skills, and into making this blog and my YouTube channel as awesome, fun and insightful as they can be!!

I plan on doing a new post and a new video each week, probably on Wednesdays or Sundays…more on that later when I can figure out the best time around my kiddos’ schedules!  My posts will mostly be about makeup, mommydom and realityTV but some randomness will be thrown in for sure.  I’m kinda random.  The videos will be about makeup/beauty solely…including tutorials, hauls, rants, raves and reviews of products and well….whatever else I feel like:)  I will write about the videos on here as well as post a link to each one, if I can figure out how to do that…I’m new at this WordPress thang!

So I really hope you guys enjoy this because I think I’m gonna LOVE doing it!!!!

Here we go………………….

Oh ya, and if you like me please tell a friend hehe!

Ello, Ello!

Standard

Hi there…this is my first post.  Sitting up at midnight when I should be sleeping.  I do this every night!  The second my kids are asleep I go into turbo multi-task mode.  I immediately turn on my DVR’d reality shows, including but not limited to: Real Housewives of _____, Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, Top Chef, and The Rachel Zoe Project.  I also open up my MacBook to start blog stalking, Facebook stalking and perusing YouTube makeup tutorials.  All the while usually texting away with family and friends.

I then curse and stomp all the way to my son’s rooms when they wake me up bright and early.

It’s not their fault.

It’s my dumb ass fault for not going to sleep early!

So now that I started this blog, it will be one more thing to add to my crazy nighttime list of nonsense to keep me awake:)

Thank sweet baby Jesus for strong coffee!!!

So this will be a short post…as I wasn’t REALLY planning on throwing this little bloggy-blog together tonight…but then all of a sudden WordPress had my PayPal info and I had a domain name and I guess there is no turning back.

I will definitely try to come up with some interesting stuff that will actually interest SOMEONE next time!

Goodnight!
